Oak Acres Children's Camp - CIT Program (Counselor-In-Training)
Do you like working with kids? Do you enjoy being outside? Are you looking for something fun and worthwhile to do this summer?
The Oak Acres Counselor-In-Training program is looking for eager 14-16 year olds to join the Oak Acres Staff in a volunteer position. The program is designed for young adults who are interested in becoming a camp counsellor. Working with children ranging from ages 7-12, skills will be developed in areas such as leadership and basic counsellor skills. In the program, CIT's will be working side by side with counsellors and other CITs, receiving hands-on experience in an outdoor environment. As a CIT, you will learn how to run sessions of your own such as archery, canoeing, sports, campfires and much more.
There will be a minimum of 6 CITs chosen for each session, 3 females and 3 males. Those chosen will have a choice of attending the July session of three camps or the August session also with three camps . The three camp sessions allow for the CITs to have the experience with all different age groups. The CITs will stay at the camp during all sessions (accommodations and food provided) and between each session the CITs will return home for a few days for a break.
